How to edit audio with Adobe Audition
- Open an audio file into the Edit view of Audition
Converting from stereo to mono
- Open the Favorites menu
- Select Convert to Mono
or
- Open the Edit menu, choose Convert Sample Type
- From the Channels menu, select Mono, Stereo, or 5.1.
- Click Ok
- Right-click on track
- Select Insert into Multitrack > New Multitrack session
- Click OK
Save sections of a long audio file into separate files
- Open the Window menu and select Markers to open the Markers Panel.
- Drag mouse over audio section that you’d like to export as its own file.
- Right-click on audio selection.
- Select Marker > Add Cue Marker
- Make sure you add a range marker (will always have a begin and end time) and not an individual point marker.
- When you are done marking each section, go to the Markers Panel and give each marker its own name (Label) or leave them with the default generic marker labels.
- Select the marker ranges you wish to export (CTRL or SHIFT + click each marker).
- Click the Export audio of selected range markers to separate files button, at the top of the Markers Panel. Note: If this button is disabled, you either .
